The short version
- Your watchlist and tracked picks live only on your device (browser localStorage). We cannot see them. They never reach a server.
- We do not run ads, analytics trackers, or sell data, and there are no advertising or analytics pixels on the site. Two third parties do load content into the page — TradingView (the price chart) and Parqet (company logos) — and your browser contacts them directly. See "Third-party content in the page" below for exactly what they can see.
- What we do hold: whatever you give the waitlist form (email, optional name, plan interest) and, once subscriptions exist, what Stripe needs to bill you.
What we collect, exactly
- On-device data (never transmitted): My Stocks watchlist, My Picks tracked list, theme preference, intro-seen flags. Clearing your browser storage erases them; we could not recover them if asked.
- Waitlist form: email, optional first name, plan interest, whether you ticked the daily-verdict box, and a friend-invite code if you used one. Stored by Netlify Forms (our host) and used solely to email you about launch and service updates (and the daily verdict, only if you ticked the box). Every email says how to unsubscribe.
- Subscription data (at launch): name, email, and payment handled by Stripe; we never see full card numbers. We hold your email, plan, and payment status.
- Email: we send email through service providers that handle your address only to deliver the message: Google (the daily verdict, if you asked for it, and our support mailbox) and, once subscriptions open, Resend (sign-in links, receipts and the daily report). DotScout does not send text messages, and our forms do not ask for a phone number.
- Hosting logs: Netlify (our host) keeps standard access logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) for security/operations per its own policy.
- Nothing from the embedded chart or logos: we receive no data back from the third parties described below — that traffic goes from your browser straight to them and never reaches us.
Third-party content in the page
Two services load content directly into DotScout pages. Because your browser fetches that content itself, those companies necessarily see your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and which DotScout page made the request — we cannot proxy that away without breaking the feature. Each is governed by its own privacy policy, not ours.

What they do not get from us: your email, your account or subscription status, your watchlist, your tracked picks, or anything you have typed. We pass them no identifiers of any kind. The chart is only loaded on a stock or coin page — if you never open one, TradingView is never contacted.
What we do NOT do
No selling or renting personal data. No ad networks. No behavioral tracking. No data brokers. No AI training on your personal data. We do not collect financial account data, positions, or trades — the product has no way to receive them.
Legal bases & rights
You may request access to or deletion of what we hold (waitlist/billing records) at support@dotscout.app. Note: most product data is on your device and already outside our reach.
Retention
Waitlist entries: until launch + 12 months or your unsubscribe. Billing records: as required by tax law. Support emails: 24 months.
Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
Material changes announced by email and in-service, with the effective date updated above.
